Personal Use Firewood

Citizens of the Borough may purchase a license to cut firewood on Borough-owned lands at the Natural Resources Development office, located on the 2nd floor of the Juanita Helms Administration Center, by calling (907) 459-1241, or emailing a request to Natural Resources Development (Please include your completed application form and if paying online, your credit card payment authorization form - scroll down for links to forms).

A Personal Use Extraction License (PUL) allows for:

  • The taking of wood according to the allowance of your license.
  • Can allow for up to 20 cords per person per year at $10 per cord, however some licenses may be restricted to fewer cords depending on availability. 

Other locations may be opened at the discretion of the Division upon public request.

Commercial Sales

The Fairbanks North Star Borough's five year timber harvest schedule and voluntary plan of operation serves to identify and plan areas where commercial timber harvesting operations could take place on Borough owned lands.
