Van Tran

Van Tran paratransit service is the Fairbanks North Star Borough's demand response Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) service, which meets the requirements of the ADA. It is provided to those people whose physical, cognitive, or sensory disabilities prevent them from using the Metropolitan Area Commuter System (MACS), the fixed-route bus system. Disability alone does not qualify an individual for Van Tran service. Eligibility is based on the applicant's functional capabilities.

How to Apply

In order to apply for eligibility for Van Tran, you must do the following:

  • Complete and sign the  Van Tran Application (PDF).
  • Have your medical provider complete the medical information form. This must be submitted with your application.
  • Participate in an in-person interview and assessment, upon notification to do so.
