The Shelter Fund
Founded in 2002, the Shelter Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit striving to make a difference in the lives of all animals who are in the Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Shelter by augmenting services which are not included in the FNSB operating budget.

The Pet Pantry
The Pet Pantry is very similar to a food/supply bank. Items that are often donated are pet food, cages, accessories, leashes, bowls, blankets, etc. The items are available to those in need and donated items are greatly appreciated by the community. Our Pet Pantry is located on the far side of the building near the Intake door and is completely self serve.
Shelter Wish List
While animals are at the shelter waiting to go home, there are some things that help to make their stay more comfortable. Check back frequently to see how you can support the animals at the shelter.
Dogs
- Extra large and large sized Kongs
- Fleece blankets
- Annameat Extra dog food
- Wire or plastic dog crates (new or slightly used)
- Bales of straw
Cats
- Small fleece blankets
- non clumping, unscented clay litter
- plastic cat carriers (new or slightly used)
Other Items
- Pill pockets for cats and dogs
- Newspaper
